Once a part of Fish
Hoek Farm it was the place where oxen |

||||||||||||

and horses pulling wagons and carts were
rested from as |

early as the mid 1700s as there was an
abundance of fresh |

||||||||||||
|
water emanating from a perennial spring
which still runs to |
|
||||||||||||
|
this day. |

||||||||||||
|
The Outspan is now a parking area and is
a part of what is |
|
||||||||||||
|
the oldest trading area in Fish Hoek. The first shop in
Fish |

||||||||||||
|
Hoek (The District Bazaar) is opposite on the corner of |
|
||||||||||||
|

||||||||||||
|
c1920. Further down the road is The Outspan Hotel, |
|
||||||||||||
|
previously known as The
Milton Hotel in the 1920s. |

Significantly, the legendary pair Messrs
